Gather at the farm in the lush Green Mountain State to join artists Lori Ann Graham, Carrie Hoge, Gudrun Johnston, Mary Jane Mucklestone, Annie Rowden & Ashley Yousling for an escape to the country, an immersion in art and natural beauty and a sweet, homespun and simple getaway.
We’ll be spending 3 nights and days together in an inspired and relaxed gathering on the farm with workshops in traditional Shetland Hap and Fair Isle, tips, tricks and techniques in knitting, artful journaling, foraging and homesteading fun, surprise festivities and fiber journey presentations with industry leaders.
Home-cooked farm-to-table meals using local and simply prepared fresh ingredients, nearby farmhouse accommodations and local fingering-weight farm yarn are included. Our classes are small and intensive, and will provide ample opportunity to explore the respective crafts with detailed instruction. The days are a mix of instruction and breaks to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural front porch living. Company will include farmyard animals of all varieties.
Mary Jane & Gudrun will share tales from Shetland, Carrie & Ashley will share interviews, Lori will be leading us in artful, meaningful journaling of craft and contemplation, and Annie & I will walk you through all of the preparations of herbal forage from medicinal properties, to soap making, teas, salves, and dyeing.
You’ll want to pack your knitting needles, your favorite casual outfits, throw in a swimsuit in case the late Springtime gives us a little unexpected warmth, and warm wraps in case of the opposite. It is Vermont, and you know what they say about the weather—if you don’t like it, just wait a few minutes and it’ll change!
Housing/accommodations will be in a nearby farmhouse which provides sweet respite from the activities on the farm and full days and evenings with new friends. If you want to share a room with a particular person, please send your registrations together in ONE envelope.
