Art Batts with Anne Choi

Fairy Bells

Wing & A Prayer Farm is thrilled to host Anne Choi from Middle Brook Fiberworks for a fiberful, colorful, delicious weekend on April 8th & 9th.

Saturday morning, April 8th, Wing & A Prayer’s Tammy White will be teaching a pie-inspired natural dyeing class from 9 – 2:00, including a delicious homemade lunch. You’ll play around with colors from a country bakery and prepare farm fiber for fashions inspired by delicious forage. See what beautiful shades you can get from berries and nuts and learn about the influence of different mordant treatments. You’ll go home with Wing & A Prayer Farm’s farm yarns and fiber for spinning in your choice of colors.

Saturday afternoon, from 2- 4:00, you’ll have an Art-Yarn Spinning Workshop with Anne Choi, owner and teacher at Middle Brook Fiberworks. Anne will teach carding art batts, separating locks for tailspinning, pulling roving tufts for multi-color thick-&-thin yarn, needlefelting berries and stringing them for thread-plying.

On Sunday, April 9th, Anne will teach from 10 – noon. We’ll break for homemade lunch, and then you’ll spend a couple more hours finishing up your projects. Anne will provide the materials: art batts, roving, silk and glitter add-ins, and long locks. We will have available drum carders, hand carders and extra wheels if anyone needs one. Your class will be creative, joyful and imaginative. Anne teaches through time-honored traditions, infused with contemporary techniques and cultivates personal vision.

Lunch & beverages and homemade pie provided by Wing & A Prayer Farm is included in the workshop, as are all materials provided by Wing & A Prayer Farm and Middle Brook Fiberworks.
