Bristol Ivy & Tina Tse at Wing & A Prayer Farm

Join Bristol Ivy & Tina Tse for Knitting Outside the Box & Home Sweet Home Cowl Workshops at Wing & A Prayer Farm on May 31 & June 1, 2019. We welcome you to the farm on Friday afternoon for a registration/gathering time with a light cocktail/mocktail-hour and Farm-to-Table dinner. You can count on a tour to see the new lambs and our dye garden and the flocks and herds of the farm will be happy to mug with you for selfies and group photos before our evening workshop. Saturday will be more gathering on the farm from 9 - 5 with two workshop sessions and midday lunch.

Lucky us! Read below to learn a little more about our exciting knitting teachers for this wonderful kick off to summer:

According to Mason Dixon Knitting, “Bristol Ivy’s Knitting Outside the Box is a stunner. It functions on several levels at once, and that’s its sneaky brilliance.

One one level, it is a book of patterns. Fifteen projects, each one lovely, surprising, varied.

But that’s the least of it. What sets this book apart—and by apart, I mean way over there in a category pretty much by itself—is the view we get of the thinking behind these projects. Knitting Outside the Box is a window into the mind of a designer who is operating at the highest level of conceptual sophistication. Bristol Ivy is an original—she’s designing far, far outside the box.”

We’ll enjoy a full workshop with Bristol at the farm on Saturday to explore “Knitting Outside the Box”, and if you haven’t bought her book yet, plan on purchasing a copy here at the farm and having her autograph it for you! What a great souvenir!

And, how exciting is this? Our farm has the opportunity to host Tina Tse!!!! Tina studied knitwear design in college and fell in love with the use of different fibers, colors, and textures to create her own fabric and use different silhouettes and construction to build garments.

In her previous life, she worked as a knitwear specialist in the fashion industry. By day, she designed on industrial knitting machines for the sporting goods industry. By night, she spent most of her time creating hand knit designs for knitting patterns to share with the knitting community.

Tina tries to design wearable pieces for any wardrobe while still creating intriguing designs to keep the interest of the knitting process.

Oh I cannot wait to see her knits in person! That Home Sweet Home Formula is going to become your secret weapon using modular knitting tecniques!

You can join the Tina Tse Knits Ravelry group to chat more on patterns, new designs, test knits, and more, check it out HERE
