Tallow Soap Making Workshop

Discover the unique process of turning Sheep’s milk, Lanolin and tallow into quality soap…

Led by farmer and soap making expert Tammy White of Wing & A Prayer Farm, you will be guided through the process of both tallow-based soap making with nourishing additives such as Sheep’s milk and Lanolin. You’ll learn the process of rendering tallow from fat, how to measure for recipes and go home with a pound of freshly made soap to cure.

Workshop runs Sunday from 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and will allow for short breaks. The workshop will be ongoing but allows for listening time intermingled with participatory activities.

Bring a good fitting mask and gloves and smock or apron. Soap Making is best done with long sleeves. If the weather is too warm to wear long sleeves, bring a long sleeved top to wear over your clothes during part of the soap-making process.

We will be working with lye which is caustic.

Class Size is 10 students.
