We separated our Shetlands’ beautiful colored fleeces to have 3 bases to choose from - oatmeal, grey and dark brown. The Shetland sheep come in 11 main colors and by combining similar fleeces, we were able to create three colorways in a Fingering weight. Single spun yarn. Each 2 oz skein is approximately 126 yards long. Green Mountain Spinnery, here in Vermont, helped us with the processing, using organic products along the way. We will be dyeing more colors with our botanical colors from the garden and surrounds.
