Started in 2006, Star Athena from Portland, OR started the first Tour by spinning yarn alongside the Tour de France Cycling tour.  The goals of challenging yourself and spinning and having fun have not changed and it’s gone from a small group of 16 spinners to now over 10,000 spinners!   This year’s Tour runs from July 5 – July 27 and joining the Ravelry Group offers a fun schedule and many extensions for getting the most out of this challenge.
