Wilbur & Fluffhead are our two white alpacas who produce the soft alpaca fiber for this silky, strong yarn in a light worsted/dk weight. Their alpaca fiber is combined with Leyla's, too, another white alpaca that lives here.

Gracie, Reya, TB, and Olivia are the other alpacas in our flock that have colored hair - it's beautiful. From grey to auburn, soft fawn, jet black.

We blend their fiber to make the grey twists.

We combine the alpaca fiber with our Cormo fiber to make this super soft yarn.

Each 100 gram skein is 140 yards of 2-ply twist that knits up at 18 st/26" = 4"/10 cm.

Each skein of Wing & A Prayer Farm is hand dyed with natural materials in a kettle in the backyard of the farm by Tammy. We have dyed this yarn with fresh woad, for a soft blue green, that grows on our farm and we create in an iron kettle in our backyard. We have also dyed with cochineal to get the deep pink color. We also dyed with Saxon blue indigo which makes the pretty teal blue color. The Buckthorn hedges near the farm's perimeter make the soft golden green.
