We will felt a fleece rug using the ancient techniques of felting here at Wing & A Prayer Farm. Bring an apron and some gloves and leave with a gorgeous long wool living pelt. We supply the beautiful Valais Blacknose and Teeswater and other wool for felting, as well as the additional supplies, and teach you how to use various forms of agitation and felting agents to create a durable, yet sublime, wool float that will be useful as a rug, a chair pad, a wall hanging or throw, pillow topper, you name it. We have 4 hours allotted to this workshop which gives you ample time to lay out the pattern and then work it through. Your project will be wet when you leave so plan on bringing a large waterproof container to put it in for travel. It will dry overnight. Projects can be various sizes and shapes, all of the materials are available to you when you are here.

How lovely to be making such a beautiful natural fiber rug with the sheep that supplied the fiber baahing and grazing in the fields alongside you! We will also have snacks and drinks while you’re here. Most of this workshop will be outdoors, under a tent, though we will have the Wool Shop and Apothecary set up with chairs and a table should the weather be inclement.
