Pattern Kit for Shisa Brand’s ‘The Tokyo sweater’ includes 100% Shetland worsted yarn in a natural pewter colorway and printed pattern.

The Tokyo sweater is a ribbed oversized sweater with short sleeves and high slit on both sides. It is hand knitted with 100% un-dyed Faroese wool. The Faroese wool is high on lanolin and therefore fairly water resistant.

inspired by the mystical Faroese nature with its fog and subdued colours – like a semi-transparent veil, the fog both shrouds and enhances the rugged beauty of the landscape. Karen Sissal loves to create a design that stands out and has its use both in a Faroese location but also , for example, in a vibrating metropolis like Tokyo.
The sweater is a warm wool sweater, but because it is oversized, has short sleeves and a high slit, it is a very comfortable wear - in most kinds of weather. The sweater is named after the city in which it was designed, Tokyo. The busy big city life where you are in and out of the subway, asks for a knitwear that is loose and not too warm, but still keeps you warm. The sample is knit in Faroese wool which supports many of the same properties and characteristics as our Shetland wool. The wool breathes well, and as the Faroese wool has a high level of lanolin, and it is near water resistant.  Which makes the sweater especially well suited as an outer wear. It has many versatile styling options.
